Starting May 1, 2026, prices for Gather perfume will be raised.
After no perfume price increases in over 5 years, the current climate of tariffs, global trade problems, and exponentially rising costs of raw materials, I am left with the choices of closing, diluting, reformulating, creating new 'cheap' perfumes, or raise my prices. I am choosing to keep the integrity of my materials and formulas.
The prices will reflect the cost reality of true, pure and rare botanical materials and the labor required to produce them.
While this will be frustrating for many, let us take this as a recalibration moment. Botanical perfumes are not commercial perfumes - they are not simply a toiletry, a disposable consumer good like shampoo or toothpaste or synthetic body mist. They are forests, farmers, sacred plants, miles and miles of roses blooming but once a year. They are ceremonial resins bled from the bark of ancient trees and cured for decades. They are the roots of bearded iris grown over generations and laid to dry for years before extracting. They are one vanilla bean carefully hand pollinated. They come from far away lands and they come from sun, moon, rain, earth, and time, even when gathered from near. Natural perfume, while created with the compass of beauty and pleasure, are vessels of precious, sacred drops, meant to be treasured and respected, an anointing ritual, not to be confused with or compared to standardized consumables.
With Gratitude,
Ananda
