RESIN DROPS

Locally foraged poplar buds, pine resin, spruce resin, white fir needles. Long leaf pine needles I gathered in Georgia. Vanilla beans. Slow infused into golden jojoba oil.

Topical healing concentrate

Limited Seasonal Batch

A multipurpose powerhouse that smells like the sun hitting a late winter forest.

Medicinal resins and needles rendered into golden jojoba oil, this liquid wonder can be used for a million woes.

Tree resin: a potent, time honored remedy offers antimicrobial, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and analgesic properties. It helps cell regeneration and lets the skin breathe even though it protects from excess moisture from the outside.

The bees know it too, considering it's what they use to create their hive's protective barrier glue known as propolis.

It's an ideal substitute for lanolin, shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, almond oil, and beeswax ointments, which for some folks are problematic. But a word to the wise, please note that resins are inherently, um, resinous and sticky - this imparts an astringent, tightening and slightly sticky feel to Resin Drops as they are working their way into the skin. This will melt into the skin after a short time, creating a smooth, protective, non greasy finish, but don't expect a penetrating lotion consistency because it is definitely not that.

RESIN DROPS is a concentrated combination of conifer resins, conifer needles, and cottonwood (poplar / balm of Gilead) buds that I ethically forage from local forests and woodlands, with the sensual addition of vanilla beans. All rendered into stable jojoba oil for a durable, multiuse final product.

Ideal uses (just a small amount will do!) And please see the *disclaimer* at bottom.

Resins require time and patience to render. They must soften, steep, melt, marry. The tree barks and bits must loosen from the glue of the resin, and yet warmth must be controlled to maintain the valuable volatile oils. Harder aged resin tears like copal, myrrh, and frankincense require much more time before surrendering to the oil than the softer, fresher resins. Straining is slow as it is thick and precious, and must work its way through fine muslin to ensure a particle free result. These resin oils are tended carefully over time (several days, sometimes weeks) to coax the highest quality possible.

Fragrant, silky smooth

There's some real magic in these resin drops! The fragrance is out of this world, and while they are a bit sticky at first (but not nearly as sticky as I expected from the description), very quickly they melt into the skin. I make my own rendered resins, but have not been able to harvest balm of gilead buds and the dried ones are not the same. Ananda makes the most beautiful products, and so does Darcy - the source of the pinon pine resin. I'm using these drops now on my very dry hands, and a slowly healing burn and they are making a big difference.
