The sweet smell of contentment and peace fill the air.

The Personal, The Process, The Gathered

June in New England gives a fast but generous outpour of linden blossoms. It is one of my favorite moments of the year; I feverishly gather all that I can when the moment is right, as it could rain at any moment, and if it rains too long the moment is vanished. I often keep baskets bags and clippers in my car, making sure to be opportunistic.

Linden trees are versatile here - the decorative ones (little leaf linden, also called lime trees in France) are planted along the borders of large landscapes, and native Linden trees (tilia americana) which are much larger and bear larger leaves and flowers grow abundantly near the Connecticut river and new England waterways. The inner bark is also used for fiber such as jute rope and native cordage.

But the flowers. The flowers ... the aroma the floats on the breeze is divine. Kayaking along the river is made blissful by this, as I can often smell the flowers before the trees appear in the landscape. The fragrant blossoms draw the local honey bees to drink.

Hand tinctured linden blossoms paired with homegrown lavender, French lavender, and Bulgarian lavender, this perfume is a plant lover's treasure.

A NOTE FROM THE PERFUMER

** Due to the fact that I - Gather perfume - use exclusively 100% natural materials, batch variance is to be expected. This is the same in any luxury, handcrafted art medium ( such as dance and opera) and agriculturally dependent arts such as viticulture, honey, or microbrewery. Gather perfumes are often limited editions for this reason, as well as the fact that some materials can only be obtained for small windows of time or no longer available at all. If you prefer uniformity in your fragrances, you may want to consider a more commercially available or mixed media brand.

With Love,
Ananda

Such a wonderful scent!

Perfect but not

Hands down the best fragrance I have ever bought for pure scent! I have tried Botany’s Daughter and Mead and though they are quite different (light herbaceous floral and deep honey notes) I love them both. Sadly they are lacking in longevity. I’m not yet sure if I can justify the cost for such a short duration fragrance.

Lavender/herbal chypre

I have gotten into perfume collecting over COVID and Gather is one of my favorite houses. Another favorite house of mine that is no longer producing perfumes as of last year is Jean Patou. If you loved Jean Patou's Ma Libre Botany's daughter would be a good fit for you. It is the same type of strong lavender/herbal chypre fragrance. Not for the faint of heart and this one is my niece's favorite from Ananda because as she says it has character and strength, it a fragrance for a strong woman. Very much the same way Ma Libre was. I have smelled many fragrances on my COVID collecting journey from many houses and I love all of my perfumes but I am telling you Gather is something special. Many of the newer fragrances put out by most design houses smell super fake because unfortunately they are. If you want as real as real gets pick up some Gather samples and give them a try. You will find several you can't live w/out, trust me.

Bright summer fragrance

When I smelled this I instantly thought of my niece. I sent the sample off to her along w/ others from Gather and I was right, while she loved all of the Gather scents I sent her this was the standout for her. Her birthday is in July and I would like to surprise her w/ a bottle. I ordered more samples (that I should've got in the 1st order) that are more traditional feminine scents. I have a feeling for me Rainwater Rose or Shakti will be the winner. I hope I can try some more of Ananda's limited edition florals in the future. She really captures nature in a bottle.
