SAMARA
| The Unfurling of Spring |
A pluvial walk through emerging spring, with her dangling tree seeds and unfolding mysteries. Shoulders held in the calm billows of a silk blouse, the temperate breeze carries ideas and inspiration. Tender shoots promise a verdant season and watery streams invite life and the sweetness of abundance. There's no more perfect green than the green of early spring. Everything is fresh and renewed; thawed, watered, clean and certain. The violet leaves arrive in the cool edge of the woods, and the snowdrops overcome the last of the melting snow.
One of my favorite signs of spring in New England are the elm tree samaras. They can be collected for food and give a delicate green flavor with a soft, slippery texture. They soothe and calm the tissues and are tiny little treasures not only of health but the promise of spring. I often collect small branches of elm. Early in the season when the sap begins to flow, the inner bark is moistened and slips easily from the heartwood, making it easier work of peeling back segments to try for medicine and teas.
The greenness and earthy notes of this perfume are balanced by bright and cheerful notes of hand tinctured Makrut lime leaves, lemon verbena, and just a hint of honeydew melon rinds. Although this perfume is deeply connected to nature in its invention, it wears clean and crisp, easily a fragrance worn to work, meetings, brunches, and in a professional setting.

A NOTE FROM THE PERFUMER
** Due to the fact that I - Gather perfume - use exclusively 100% natural materials, batch variance is to be expected. This is the same in any luxury, handcrafted art medium ( such as dance and opera) and agriculturally dependent arts such as viticulture, honey, or microbrewery. Gather perfumes are often limited editions for this reason, as well as the fact that some materials can only be obtained for small windows of time or no longer available at all. If you prefer uniformity in your fragrances, you may want to consider a more commercially available or mixed media brand.
