Most almond perfumes are really sweet. I should know I collect perfume and own quite a few almond based scents. My husband loves the smell of almond but won't wear it because many of them are super sweet and very feminine. I bought the Almond Tree for him as a gift and I'm glad I did. It is unisex but it is a true almond scent w/out all the gourmand sweetness. It smells like the wood of the almond tree and the creaminess of the actual nut but in a perfume form. It smells like the color of the liquid, almost like a slightly smoky almond liquor that has been aged. I'm a big fan of Gather perfumes and own quite a lot of them. I wish more of Ananda's creations were featured in Fragrantica.com where perfume nuts like me chat and write reviews. All of her perfumes are extremely long lasting and very, very little is needed. They are what we call Beast mode, which is always good value for money.
