A clearing. The eye of the storm. The electric breath of the sky as it meets the earth. Ancient stone alive to the beams of sun. Futures told by sediment. Pasts held in fossil. 

White sage opens the door to an olfactory temple in the mountains, where sweet myrrh mingles with frankincense and juniper, tapestries of ceremonial herbs, resins and woods weave through the air, while the rocky outcrops and striations of mineral glint in the sun. Unusual yet comforting. Contemplative. Reverent.

A return perfume from 2013, Sastun weaves the elements of stone, herb, and wood to pay homage to a sastun stone gifted to me many years ago.
